Good evening boys and girls, I bring you an update on our progress and our plans ahead, but don't be afraid, this one won't be as long.

As far as the Test server goes, we're wrapping it all up these days as we feel we've gotten sufficient results for the most part on practically everything. Which also means that the testers have done a very good job spotting bugs for us, and the devs are fixing and tweaking at full speed so that we'll have the server ready for you guys sometime in early june.

I'm not going to give you the exact date yet, as those of you who attended the first beta surely remember how rushing it out ends up. Instead we will make sure that the server is 110% ready for the players, rather than trying to rush it out for you guys as soon as we can.

Also, before you get all your gears running and preparing for the release, keep in mind that it's mostly speculation from our side, as we'll still have to see in a couple of weeks time if we will be able to do it or if we will have to delay it further. That is just how it will be.

Please try to understand that we want to give the best experience from the start, and not have to go back and fix too many things. Allowing us to keep our attention focused on the future content updates.

Onto a slightly different subject

As we draw closer to the release, we aim to step up our advertising effort and we hope that you players will be able to assist us in this as well. As hearing about a server by word of mouth is usually a lot better than broad advertising, although we will do that as well of course. So tell your friends, your parents, your dog and your boss/teacher about us. As we do want to have as big of a player base from the start as possible.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, Boys and girls, today I bring you an update which should clarify a few things that have been fervently discussed on the forums lately.

Test Server
First and foremost the test server is of course already up for the admins, but as things are right now we simply don't have the manpower within the team to test all of that we wish we could get tested, so that is why we will be bringing a few people on the server. This is important, because I don't want to raise anyones hopes too much.

There will be a selected few people, that will be allowed on the test server. Simply because it is intended for testing and testing only, we can't open it to everyone as it would put too much pressure on the local server, and allow for more structured testing.

Small 'Selection' Process
Here's what will happen; There will be a small amount of questions that will be put forth in a universal forum topic, if you want to come on the test realm, simply copy over and answer those questions in a PM to one of the admins, and then we will decide wether or not we want you on the server. I need to repeat however, that not everyone will be able to come, even though you answer the questions perfectly and professionally we simply can not take everyone on the server. So keep that in mind when you send the PM.

Testing Period
This testing period will last for around a months time before we will close off access to the server again and our coders will go back into a deep trance of squishing bugs and things that don't belong on the server. There will be a forum post coming shortly with far more exact and detailed information about all of this, including how to and where to report bugs, how to act and what to do on the server and so on.

We expect the players we invite to the server to be professional about this, and to keep their eyes on the target. Joking around and not doing what you should be doing will result in you being removed from the server in favour of someone else who will.

Rough Release Date
With that aside, I know I said we wanted to have the server out before winter is over, but that is simply not possible. There are too many things popping up, and it will take us some time to get the server ready for release. Realistically sometime late May or early June could be a good target for us. That would hopefully (probably!) give us just enough time to finish up and do everything that needs to be done in order to release the server. I know you're probably disappointed with this, and you were really hoping we'd have it out around these days, but so are we.

We really did want to have it out sooner, but over the course of the last few weeks we've noted down more and more things we want to make sure we have ready and fixed in order to release the server.

So all in all, it should hopefully be an exciting month with a lot of progress being made. I also want to thank you guys again for following us in this project and please do keep spreading the word about us. Quality Gaming is going to be huge.

I know there has been quite some time since the last update, and for that we apologize. There has honestly been a lot of different things going on all at the same time and it has kept us quite busy. Everything from exams to banging our heads at codes. However we have a small "just to keep you updated" update for you here.

But don't worry, the reason for it being small is because we have a much larger one coming out in a few weeks. Which will include things like the release date, some videos of both what we've been up to, and about Q-gaming itself, our definite plans for the future and plenty more.

There will probably never be a time where we don't have to fix something, but we want to draw a line now as we have grinded out the important bugs that would be gamebreaking before the release. This is also why there have been less updates about bug fixes lately. We believe that we'll now have a very solid base to start the server with, and as such we can also fix any bugs that might pop up faster once the server goes live.

Right now we are sorta wrapping up the bug fixes before Santa and Sey will be off to Austria for a well earned weeks vacation. (Suspect will be left to grind out some more bugs however).

Once they return, and all the bugs have been fixed, we'll prepare for the live release. The fixes will all be pushed into the same revision on our local server, where we will then proceed to test everything all over again in preparation for the release. Once this has been done, we will be able to give you a definite release date for the server.
So there should be a lot more action here in the weeks to come!

We'd like to thank everyone here for the continued support towards the server and we want you to know that the support really helps to keep us going. With that said, we'd like to shed some light upon a few topics that have been brought to our attention lately.

As most of you would know, we have had the beta period for the server, which was incredibly useful to us in many ways. Foremost, we were able to get a feel of how hard the content needs to be for it to be challenging, since for many players the word 'challenging' hasn't really been used in the way it should have for a long time. We intend to do something about that.

Right now there is a lot of coding going on, as can be seen in some of our update videos on our Media page and in the Universal Updates thread. Keep in mind that there are more changes being made almost all the time, and not all are posted. (But most are!) We have soon finished scripting and tuning all of the dungeons and we will then move on to the remaining aspects of PvP, Battlegrounds, and important matters in general.

As for vote and donation rewards -- vote rewards would be very basic, a small kindness for supporting this server, such as Health Potions - definitely no weapons or gear. Donation rewards will not give you any advantage towards the actual progression on the server, they're merely to encourage support towards this server.

As for the release, we can not give you anything but soon, for now. We're working hard to prepare the server for launch, so that we will not have to look back at things that are not finished. This way, when we launch, we can truly focus on the well-being of the server - including rapid bug fixes and much more.

Kind regards,
- Quality Gaming staff

We'd like to thank you guys for playing and testing out the beta server. The beta will now be put offline for a while so we can truly focus on all the bugs you guys have reported. After that we can focus on the big release.

We will keep you guys fully updated with new videos and information about the full release in the meanwhile.

-- Much love from the Quality Gaming staff

As a closure of the beta, we've decided to give everyone the .additem, .additemset, .lookup item and .lookup itemset commands so you can test any item you like for the last few days of the beta.

We've gone ahead and deleted some overpowered items that would easily ruin the game for other players. There could still be a couple of overpowered items that we may have missed. If you happen to find such items, please report them to the staff or on the forums.

There will be a hosted raid to Molten Core and Onyxia this Sunday at 18:00 PM GMT (London Time)

This raid will be for Alliance characters only, so have one ready in Stormwind 15 minutes before the raid. A couple of Game Masters will be waiting there to invite you.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

by Santa // 13/11/2011 10

We appreciate all the testing that you guys have done so far. The feedback we have gotten from this is incredibly helpful. As the beta is coming to an end, we are planning to have a raid to Onyxia and Molten Core. After that we may or may not give you guys the additem command so you can test whatever you want to test for the last few days of the beta.

After the beta, all characters will be wiped from your account and the server will go offline for a while, so we can truly focus on those last few bugs and prepare the server for it's full release. We will calculate the total amount of played from your characters and make sure you get the proper reward for playing on the beta. When the server goes live, you'll be able to pick the rewards from our site and send them to one of your characters.

We will release a couple of videos of the server before the release and keep you guys fully updated with new information as time passes. More information about the upcoming test raids will be available on the forums later.

Hello everybody!

We appreciate the testing you all have done so far! We've decided what the rewards will be for beta testers.

Beta-testers with a minimum of 48 hours(2days) /play time will receive 4 pieces of the Dungeon 1 set: Bracers, Belt, Gloves and Boots. On top of that they will receive 100 gold.

Beta-testers with a minimum of 96 hours(4days) /play time will receive the same rewards as above, plus 2 items of choice from any 5-man dungeon(Blue's only). On top of that they will receive a total of 200 gold.

We've also increased the profession rate to x5, hoping to improve the testing of professions.

Don't forget to sign up for the Molten Core test raid in our forums. The raid will be hosted next Thursday!

Happy testing everyone, it really helps us improve our full release!

by Santa // 22/10/2011 147

The beta will be opened this Thursday or Friday. We'll have an open beta, meaning everyone can join at any given time. You'll be able to log in with your current account.

We plan to test Molten Core, parts of Zul'Gurub, some dungeons (Stratholme, UBRS and Scholomance), the battlegrounds, the PvP system and quests/classes/spells/talents in general.

The characters created in the beta will be given dungeon 1 gear for testing purposes.

If you participate in the beta, you'll be given a small reward. We're not 100% sure what that reward is just yet. After the beta, all characters and guilds will be wiped clean.

The beta is not even close to the end product. This is purely a beta and is only for testing. The results of the beta will decide how we will continue with the full release.

If you have any questions regarding the beta, leave a reply here or in the comment section.

by Haze // 14/09/2011 50

Theoretically, we COULD open the beta today and let you guys go wild, but what would the point of that be? First of all, we will probably get some bug reports, we then need to fix those bugs. We probably won't be able to keep up with the amount of bugs that will inevitably be posted. It takes time to fix bugs, depending on how severe they are.

So in essence, it would get to a point where you aren't actually doing anything constructive, you'll end up just running about probably not doing all that much since you wouldn't keep your characters at the end of the beta. Making work put into the characters, if you do so. Obsolete.

That's why we try to time this as good as we can, so that we can provide a minimum wait between the end of beta and the actual release. While also making the most of what players will be able to test for us.

So please, it will start soon, we can not give an exact date beyond soon just yet.

by Haze // 06/09/2011 10

We're close to opening the beta for you! With the recent patch of fixes applied and some general testing completed, we're feeling confident and almost ready to let people on the server to see what it's like, and give us feedback, helping us form the server.

That means you can help shape the server by providing everything from bug reports to suggestions and feedback on things that are already in motion! We really do appriciate your feedback and patience, and hope you understand that we also do not want to rush things out. We want to have a truly great server to launch.

To join the beta, all you need is a registered account and you'll be able to connect once we put the server up. There will be more information on this once the time comes!
